Add assets to content
Select compatible assets and check their preview and delivery behavior.
An Asset field limits which Asset types can be selected and how many values it accepts.
Access
You need backend.read and content.read for both the entry and assets. Updating the field also requires content.update for the entry and locale.
Select assets
- Open the entry or Component containing the Asset field.
- Open the Asset selector.
- Choose assets allowed by the field’s Asset type and item limit.
- If the field accepts several assets, put them in the intended order.
- Select Save, then Open preview.
- Publish both the asset and the entry when published delivery must resolve them.
A reference does not grant access to a restricted asset. An inaccessible or unavailable target can remain stored without exposing its content. If the selector cannot resolve an expected asset, check its type, status, and your content.read scope.
