Comments and inbox

Comment, mention teammates, resolve threads, and process inbox items.

Use comments to discuss an entry, asset, field, Release, or Release item. Resolving a thread closes the discussion; it does not change content or review state.

Access

Reading threads requires backend.read, collaboration.read, and access to the target content or Release. Starting or replying requires collaboration.comment; resolving or reopening requires collaboration.resolve. Deleting a message requires collaboration.moderate, but the Admin app does not expose that action.

Discuss work

  1. On an entry or asset, select Comments or a field comment button. On a Release, select Comments.
  2. Write the message, select members under Mention, then select Comment. Typing @name alone does not create a structured Mention.
  3. Reply while the thread is Open. Select Resolve when the question is answered, or Reopen before continuing a resolved discussion.
  4. Open Inbox, filter by All inbox items, mention, assignment, review request, or approval needed, then select Mark read.

Resolved threads do not accept replies until reopened. Some entity inbox items display an ID instead of a link.
