Import a snapshot

Upload, map, review, apply, cancel, and inspect a snapshot.

An Import job validates a portable snapshot into a migration plan. Jetrepo applies only a reviewed plan.

Validate and plan

  1. Open Settings → Import / Export → Import.
  2. Upload a trusted JSON or ZIP snapshot, or choose an eligible completed export.
  3. Choose the target mode and conflict policies. Map locale keys and source users to existing target members; unmapped actionable work is skipped with warnings, not assigned to placeholder users.
  4. Validate, then open Migration plan. Resolve blockers and review warnings, destructive operations, identity mappings, and target fingerprint changes.

Uploading, creating, and validating for an existing Backend require backend.read and portability.import. Inspecting or canceling uses portability.read. Creating a new Backend from a snapshot additionally requires Organization-level backend.create and portability.createBackend.

Apply and inspect

  1. If the plan is destructive, type IMPORT BACKEND when prompted.
  2. Apply with portability.apply.
  3. Inspect the final job report, then check the imported model, content, references, files, workflows, and delivery. Re-enter excluded secrets.

Apply is blocked by an unsupported or oversized artifact, missing ZIP files, unresolved references or conflicts, more than 10,000 operations, plan blockers, or a stale target fingerprint. Scheduled jobs are not recreated by default. Cancellation can mark a supported job canceled but does not guarantee immediate worker interruption. Artifact deletion uses portability.delete and preserves job/report history.
